CPA, CA Position

Our firm, Johnston Beaudette, is a prominent chartered accounting firm in Cornwall, Ontario and is actively seeking a CPA, CA or a professional with an equivalent designation to begin on a full-time basis, immediately.

  • CPA, CA designation or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in a professional accounting services firm

  • Understanding of Canadian GAAP and GAAS with a strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises

  • Experience preparing financial statements and personal and corporate income tax returns

  • Strong communication (oral and written) and organizational skills

  • Well developed leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work on multiple engagements concurrently

  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision and within a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to providing excellent client service

  • Working knowledge of CaseWare/CaseView, Taxprep, Word, Excel

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements and related tax returns in accordance with GAAP and firm standards for clients in a variety of businesses and non-profit enterprises

  • Conduct audit, review and notice to reader engagements on small to medium sized organizations in a variety of industries

  • Audit financial statements of business clients as a team member or audit senior

  • Prepare personal income tax returns

  • Deliver completed files for review on a timely basis

  • Communicate effectively with our clients, government agencies and with our partners and staff

  • Keep partners and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues

  • Apply analytical accounting and tax knowledge to identify issues, suggest alternatives, and implement plans

  • Prepare tax planning at both the personal and corporate level for diverse clients
